For as long as I can remember, I have delighted in collecting unique and vintage treasures. As a little girl, I loved going to yard sales and thrift shops, discovering affordable, little items to create beauty in my space. As a young adult, I spent many hours learning to make homemade items - candles, art, throw pillows, quilts, etc. Fast forward, a few more years, in early marriage and motherhood, with a home of my own, I again turned to vintage shops and second-hand pieces to add comfort and beauty to my home.

Now, I find myself in another season of life, and with that has come the opportunity to travel often in Europe. I have a renewed passion for sourcing beautiful things for the home - my treasure hunting borders have expanded!

Two loves have converged to create Plain & Proper — my love for finding vintage items, and my newfound love for European travel. Sourcing beautiful European finds to create a layered, soulful and timeless home is what Plain & Proper is all about.
